Dr. Frank D. Yelian, MD, PhD, is the Founder and Medical Director of Life IVF Center. He is a board certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist with fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and over 30 years of experience in reproductive medicine and women’s health.
Inspired by his mother, an OBGYN doctor in rural China, Dr. Yelian graduated from Zhejiang University’s School of Medicine, one of Asia’s top medical programs, going on to receive Obstetrics and Gynecology training and a Master’s Degree at the same institution.
Coming to the United States, he earned a PhD in Reproductive Endocrinology and Embryology from Michigan State University where he would also receive additional residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
He first joined Wayne State University’s IVF program as an embryologist and postdoctoral fellow, where he performed the first intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) case in the state of Michigan. He later joined Wayne State’s Reproductive Medicine and Infertility (REI) fellowship program and served as an Associate Professor there where he taught, researched, and practiced medicine with a focus on assisted reproductive technologies and minimally invasive gynecological surgery.
In 2009, Dr. Yelian took a sabbatical to work at Tokyo’s Kato Ladies Clinic, one of the world’s largest and most successful IVF programs. There, he mastered the cutting-edge techniques and skills they pioneered in Natural Cycle and Minimal Stimulation IVF.
Dr. Yelian is highly recognized around the world as an expert in the field of infertility, especially in treating patients with diminished ovarian reserve, polycystic ovarian syndrome, endometriosis, recurrent pregnancy loss, and premature ovarian failure.
He has over 100 scientific publications and has received numerous local, national, and international awards, and was elected Chairman of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine’s Chinese Special Interest Group. Through Life IVF Center, he has treated patients from dozens of countries all around the world and nearly all fifty states.
