Optimal Stimulation IVF is a treatment protocol only offered when approved by a Life IVF Center physician. The goal of Optimal Stimulation IVF is to have the woman produce up to 10 eggs per retrieval cycle. As that is the goal for this treatment option, more medication is used than in a Minimal Stimulation IVF cycle, however still much less than what is used in Conventional IVF. As there is more medication used, the cost for this treatment is greater than Minimal Stimulation IVF but may allow a woman to produce more eggs than in a Minimal Stimulation IVF Cycle. There is a slight chance of Ovarian Hyper-stimulation Syndrome (OHSS) with this treatment protocol so it is used only if the patient's situation demands it.
This treatment options is commonly used for those who are egg donors, or are younger and want to be able to bank a greater amount of eggs per cycle. The physicians at Life IVF Center only reserve this for patients whom they feel would be the best fit for it and where the medication would not jeopardize their health.
